Sir Gerald Festus Kelly's "Newport Nude" hit the national headlines in the Daily Mirror once again today, Tuesday 22 July 2008.

I would be interested to know if Newport Museum and Art Gallery still has a collecting policy which might stimulate controversy and interest in the wider Newport community? This show seems to remind us of the importance of art's contribution to a community consciousness.
